stealthbunny | 16th. December, 2009 08:05 pm Smidgie is home from her spay, poor mini-kitty. Her incision looks like an oversized outy belly button. She acts fine - keeping her quiet may be just about impossible since "quiet" and "Smidgeon" are two words that never go together well.
Nox has decided that she has to be all assertive again and is growling and lunging at her every time Smidge so much as looks at her. Smidge just keeps going by or rolls over and lets Nox pin her down. For the most part, it didn't seem to phase her, but finally she started giving me sad looks. "Why is she picking on me?" The Phooka-bunny was upset by it and went over and tried to have a "talk" with Nox, nose to nose, but he got too close when he nudged her, and Nox tried to bap him with a paw and rolled over backwards. Loss of dignity never works well when faced with a rabbit bigger than you are. She blamed Smidgeon. The Phooka gave up and came over to me with an "Well, I tried," air. Smidgie finally ended up in my lap and slept curled in my hand for a while and I'm not really sure where she is now, but there's silence, so I guess the siblings aren't trying to kill each other. Current Mood: exhausted

stealthbunny | 14th. December, 2009 09:08 pm Smidgie has been bundled off to the Not-My-Vet for her girly parts to be removed. They offered to take her tonight, so I wouldn't have to frantically race around at ungodly-hour o'clock in the morning (which is hard enough for me to do, much less when I'm weather reacting and in this much pain, and in winter). She'll be there all day tomorrow and overnight tomorrow night as well, and I can pick her up on Wednesday.
She sobbed all the way there, tiny mews of distress and rubbings against the mesh of her carrier. Then when I came home, Nox cried for ten minutes straight at me.
And then I buried my woe in peppermint cappaccino and fudge that wendyzski sent. It was very late in the day for me to have coffee and sweet, and I am up later than I usually am because of it... but extreme circumstances call for extreme measures. My mini-kitty is at the Not-My-Vet to be operated on by a Not-My-Vet. I am in huge amounts of FMS pain. I have huge amounts of work to do that I am in too much pain to do. Therefore... coffee and fudge. And hopefully, some bonding with Noxie, since there will be no kitten interruptions. Current Mood: woeful
